About Us

Founded in 1948, CSI is a national not-for-profit association of more than 6,000 members dedicated to improving the communication of construction information throughout continuous development and transformation of standards and formats, education and certification of professionals to improve project delivery processes. CSI members work tirelessly to effectively communicate the designers’ vision, the material producers’ solutions and the constructors’ techniques to create outstanding facilities that meet facility owners’ objectives.

CSI is dedicated to improving the communication of construction information through:

• A diversified membership base of allied professionals involved in the creation and management of the built environment. Join us!

The Ohio Valley Chapter was chartered in September of 1957 by a group of 42 design/construction professionals and began as the "Ohio Valley Chapter."  Shortly thereafter the name was changed to the Cincinnati Chapter.  The chapter grew rapidly to a point in the mid 1990's where we enjoyed a membership of over 250 members. In 2023 The Cincinnati Chapter's geographic area expanded taking in the existing Dayton-Miami and Columbus Chapters as well as areas in Southern Ohio over to West Virginia.  With this expanded area in Southern Ohio, we decided to go back to our roots and rename the Chapter back to "The Ohio Valley Chapter." Our chapter has prided itself in being one of the larger and more active chapters in the Great Lakes Region. The Ohio Valley Chapter is now in its seventh decade of serving the design/construction community of Southern Ohio. Our membership is made up of architects, engineers, interior designers, facilities managers, contractors, product manufacturers and representatives, and others involved in the design/construction industry.
