    • We're on the Road Again! Our chapter program for October 13 takes us on the road to Lebanon, OH to tour the Ghent manufacturing facility.  Ghent specializes in making innovative products for visual communication, space division, and display furniture. Our factory tours are always fun and educational.  1 AIA LU/HSW credit is available.

    • Proposed Ohio Building & Plumbing Code and Residential Code of Ohio Rules. The Board of Building Standards proposed draft rules amending the 2024 Ohio Building and Plumbing Codes and the 2019 Residential Code of Ohio are available for stakeholder review and comment by September 15.     Did You Know...?

    • Going back to our Roots.  The Ohio Valley Chapter was chartered in September of 1957 by a group of 42 design/construction professionals and began as the "Ohio Valley Chapter."  Shortly thereafter the name was changed to the Cincinnati Chapter.  The chapter grew rapidly to a point in the mid 1990's where we enjoyed a membership of over 250 members. In 2023 The Cincinnati Chapter's geographic area expanded taking in the existing Dayton-Miami and Columbus Chapters as well as areas in Southern Ohio over to West Virginia.  With this expanded area in Southern Ohio, we decided to go back to our roots and rename the Chapter back to "The Ohio Valley Chapter." Our chapter has prided itself in being one of the larger and more active chapters in the Great Lakes Region. The Ohio Valley Chapter is now in its seventh decade of serving the design/construction community of Southern Ohio. Our membership is made up of architects, engineers, interior designers, facilities managers, contractors, product manufacturers and representatives, and others involved in the design/construction industry.

    At the Institute...

    • 2027 Winter Master Specifiers Retreat.  Feb. 17–19 at the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort & Spa near Austin, Texas. The retreat is for specifiers, architects, and other design professionals that either directly or indirectly influence building product selection. Specifically, those that work on large-scale projects across the country that want to learn about specific building products and form relationships with expert building product representatives. Attendance is limited and based on specific qualifications. You must fill out an eligibility form to make sure all basic qualifications are met.  CSI covers the cost of airfare (up to $500), hotel room nights, and transportation to and from the airport and hotel.
